Generic Flipper by Flipper

“Ever wish the human race didn’t exist? And then realize you’re one too?”

Generic Flipper, the quintessential 1982 punk album by SF punk band Flipper, is getting reissued by local label Superior Viaduct. Noisy and flagrant, it’s one of those albums that managed to rise above the tide and stay there by outpunking the punks. The most obvious evidence is the closing track, “Sex Bomb,” an eight-minute classic built as simply as any rock & roll song but bursting with inane repetition, unbridled saxophone, and Iggy-like shrieking as it continuously spirals in on itself.
