PSA on the amazing free concerts hosted by the San Francisco Conservatory of Music

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to hear a world-class cellist perform Bach’s second cello suite in D minor while sitting in a recital hall 11 stories up, illuminated only by the bright lights of city hall and the river of Van Ness traffic?

I had never wondered this either.

And yet there I found myself this past Monday, immersed in this one-of-a-kind experience as Amos Yang (cello faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music) performed with the lights off in the stunning Barbro Osher Recital Hall. After the Bach, he was joined by fellow SFCM faculty members to play Ravel and Brahms.

If you’re a classical music lover, definitely check out the SFCM calendar and consider making a donation to this incredible institution, which frequently hosts free recitals.
