Bay Beats at the Bandshell

May 3, 2025 — White Crate partnered with Bay Beats, the San Francisco Public Library’s free local music streaming platform, to present a free show at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell! Performers included flower power folk songstress Mae Powell, Zimbabwean mbira player Piwai, and eight-piece funk group The Grease Traps.

Kicking off its third year, Bay Beats is an integral part of the Bay Area music scene. In celebration of the program’s 2025 submissions round, this diverse show reflected the wide range of music available on the Bay Beats platform.

Noise Pop Fest Happy Hour

February 26, 2025 — As part of a weeklong free happy hour series at Bender’s Bar & Grill, White Crate’s showcase at Noise Pop featured Americana, country, and folk-adjacent artists Sadie Alan, Credit Electric, and Jacob Aranda. Our first Noise Pop show, we took it as a great opportunity to highlight three of our favorite Bay Area artists!

Benefit for LA Fire Relief

February 8, 2025 — The mini-tour homecoming show for local dance punk geniuses Naked Roommate also featured Brontez Purnell, Wife, Black Thumb, and ronny ronny ronny (DJ) – plus visuals by Zack Rodell.

Presented at El Rio in partnership with Talent Moat, the benefit show raised more than $1,000 for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and their work providing relief and recovery rooted in solidarity and mutual aid for immigrant communities impacted by the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles.

White Crate 4-Year Anniversary

November 9, 2024 — To celebrate four years of Bay Area Music Love, we hosted two events with four of our favorite local bands, four of our favorite DJs, and 10 hours of music.

Sour Widows headlined our day party at El Rio, with support from Pocket Full of Crumbs, Tony Jay, Margot James, and DJ Nocean Beach, representing the best in local shoegaze and alt rock. At night, we moved next door to Mothership with Charles Hawthorne and Farsight for an eclectic evening of dance floor heaters from two of the Bay’s most creative selectors, each given a full two hours to stretch out and play. White Crate resident ronny ronny ronny opened up the festivities.
