“telling the story of a world on the continual precipice of enormous changes & deeper awakenings. […] our intention is for this release and all subsequent releases to be a part of the positive change of the world.”
Yes, yes, we’re not individuals separate and isolated from each other and the rest of the world, we’re actually all fundamentally united and connected to the oneness of the universe. We already knew all that, right? Maybe, but it never hurts to be shepherded back to that all-important truth, and here is your latest reminder: Color TV, the full-length debut by SF psych rock band Analog Dog. Described by the band as an “act of love,” the album largely sways to soft rock sounds, infused here and there with the soothing horns of soul jazz and the infectious grooves of radio disco. It may seem odd to release an ideal summertime soundtrack in the middle of winter, but then, you do need rain to make rainbows.
Celebrate the album release with Analog Dog, opening up for Con Brio tonight at the Independent.
