If you’re not already familiar with amapiano, it’s a fairly new genre of house music coming out of South Africa. It’s a jazzy low tempo deep house style that fits just as well in the lounge as the club. Inspired by this style, izzy wise’s latest single “AmaMeditation” features QVLN’s violin instead of piano as the high pitched melody over the soft synths and shuffling log drum low end.
izzy wise is a multi-instrumentalist and DJ who produces eclectic dance music that bounces from West Africa to the West Indies, and all points in between. You can check out his Hi Life Party sunset solstice renegade this Tuesday from 7-10pm at Warm Water Cove Park in San Francisco.
