“SF shaped who I am heart and soul.” Interview with La Favi

Locally raised and internationally celebrated, Latin Grammy award-winning singer songwriter La Favi spoke with us before our event on Saturday at El Rio, where she’ll perform a set of unreleased music off her upcoming album.

How do you feel seeing the explosion of interest and popularity in Latin club music in the U.S. and around the world?

I think Latin club music is an expression that comes from the barrios and underground has always had a global influence. That’s not new, it’s just something certain people are now becoming aware of.

Does the Bay Area influence the music you make?

Yes, being born and raised in SF shaped who I am heart and soul.

Do you have any new releases coming up?

Yes, I have a release that I will be announcing soon: Everybody who comes to the show on the 13th will get a chance to hear it first. It’s probably my most personal project to date and it really means a lot to me.
